Young Professional Scholarship
The Young Professional Scholarship is awarded annually to one Young Professional (YP) Member and provides the opportunity to attend the Institute’s National Conference.
We will be awarding two (2) scholarships in 2012.
The Scholarship
The scholarship provides each winner with return economy flights from Perth and full conference registration fee and is valued at over $2,000.
The IPAA National Conference
The conference for 2012 will be held 18 - 20 September in Melbourne. Delegates will come from all over Australia and will include representatives from Australia’s major trading partners and governments in South East Asia and the Pacific, along with representatives from the United States, Canada and Europe, all coming together in one of the largest gatherings of public administrators ever held in Australia.
The conference will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to connect with leaders in the public sector whilst exploring the challenges and opportunities that minority governments present for public administrators. Check out the program and speakers at www.ipaa2012.org.au.
How to Apply
Application is on a self-nomination basis and requires:
- submission of a current resume including current position and contact details; and
- submission of a paper (max 400 words) outlining why you would like to attend the 2012 International Congress, and detailing how it will aid your professional development and career in the public service.
Winner Requirements
Each winner will be required to complete a brief report on their experience at the International Congress. This will be published on the Institute’s website and you may also be required to make a short presentation at a future Young Professional’s event.
Judging
Applications will be reviewed** by a panel and the winners will be notified by email and announced on the Institute’s website by 27 July 2012.
Eligibility & Closing Date
To be eligible to apply you must be under 35 years of age and a Young Professional Member of the WA Institute for the year 2012/13.
Emailed applications for the competition must be received by the Institute no later than 5:00pm on Friday, 20 July 2012. Email your application to info@ipaawa.org.au with 'YP Scholarship' in the subject line.

** The panel’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the panel’s decisions. The panel reserves the right not to award the scholarship. The competition is open to all financial YP Members or Young Professional Corporate Members for 2012/13.
